Manny Klausner, a founding member of the American Ideals PAC’s advisory committee, passed away earlier this month. A respected litigator with expertise in constitutional law, election law, and media law, Manny was a tireless and effective champion of individual rights and freedom.
For decades, he advocated for equal rights for all Americans, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, or gender. In 1996, he served as vice chair of the successful Proposition 209 campaign, which prohibited public racial and gender discrimination and preferences in California. In 2020, Manny served as vice chair of the “No on Prop 16” campaign, which resoundingly defeated a well-funded effort to overturn Prop 209.
A co-founder and trustee of the Reason Foundation, Manny served on California’s Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He was a founding director of the Institute for Justice, and served as outside general counsel for the Individual Rights Foundation.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Manny’s cherished loved ones. We will greatly miss his friendship, wisdom, and guidance.
